Pexco acquires Scandia Plastics, deepens specialty plastics machining capability

Mary Page Bailey

Pexco LLC (Atlanta, Ga.; www.pexco.com), a North American specialty plastics extruder-processor, has acquired Scandia Plastics, Inc. of Plaistow, New Hampshire. Scandia is a custom extrusion business specializing in high-performance thermoplastic extrusions and down-stream machining capabilities. Scandia sells to the filtration, medical, environmental, defense, and other industrial markets, processing a variety of high-end engineering resin materials.

Scandia has operated a 62,000-ft2 facility in New Hampshire with 12 production lines and approximately 50 employees. Pexco will maintain the operation in Plaistow. The acquisition marks the first addition to Pexco since Odyssey Investment Partners, LLC purchased the custom plastics business in August of 2012.
