Neste Jacobs to deliver an isomerization unit to Neste Oil at Porvoo refinery

Neste Jacobs Oy (Porvoo, Finland; www.nestejacobs.com) will deliver engineering, procurement and construction management (EPCM) services to construction of an isomerization unit at Neste Oil Porvoo petroleum refinery. The investment, valued at approximately €65 million, is intended to increase the output of high-octane gasoline and improve refining flexibility at the site.

"When the new isomerization unit is completed in 2015, we will be able to refine higher volumes of premium-quality gasoline that commands a higher price on export markets," says Matti Lehmus, Neste Oil's executive vice president, Oil Products and Renewables. "In addition to its importance for Neste Oil, the new unit represents a major industrial investment nationally in Finland."

"We are happy to help Neste Oil in building the isomerization unit. We have a strong competence in developing and improving the existing oil refiniries by implementing these type of projects. Our center of excellence located in Porvoo will be delivering the unit to Neste Oil," says Neste Jacobs´ managing director Jarmo Suominen.

The isomerization unit will have a capacity of 600,000 ton/yr. Construction will begin during year 2013 and the unit is due to come on stream in spring 2015. The project will generate 60 man-years of employment.
