Foster Wheeler awarded contract for hydrogen reformers in Vietnam
Foster Wheeler AG (Zug, Switzerland; www.fwc.com) says that a subsidiary of its Global Engineering and Construction Group has been awarded a contract for two Terrace Wall hydrogen reformers by GS Engineering & Construction Corp., which is acting on behalf of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) consortium for the $9-billion Nghi Son Refinery and Petrochemical (NSRP) complex to be constructed in the Nghi Son Economic Zone, Thanh Hoa Province, Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The Foster Wheeler contract value was not disclosed and will be included in the company’s fourth-quarter 2013 bookings.
Foster Wheeler will design and supply the reformers, which will be designed to be capable of producing a combined total of 145,000 metric tons of hydrogen per annum. The hydrogen reformers will be key components within the Nghi Son Refinery hydrogen-manufacturing unit. Foster Wheeler was awarded the license package for the hydrogen production unit directly by NSRP in 2010. Delivery of the reformers is expected to be completed during the fourth quarter of 2015.
