New Biturox project awarded to Pòˆrner by Indian Oil

In January 2013, Pòˆrner Ingenieurgesellschaft mbH, (Vienna, Austria; www.poerner.at) concluded a contract for engineering and construction of a Biturox Bitumen Plant in Barauni Refinery, near Patna in the east of India with Indian Oil Corp.
The Pòˆrner scope of services includes licensing, pilot tests, basic engineering, supply of core components as well as commissioning support and start-up. The plant is designed for the production of road paving bitumen VG-10 to VG-40 with a capacity of 100,000 metric tons per year. Suitable feedstock components are refinery intermediate products VR and HVGO from different crudes. The plant shall be provided with the most advanced technology for off-gas treatment and heat recovery and thus fulfills all requirements as to energy efficiency and environmental safety. The start-up is scheduled for 2014.
This 46th licensing underlines the Pòˆrner Group’s world market leadership in bitumen oxidation technology. Even now, 50% of India’s bitumen production is made in Biturox plants.
