Structured packing for gas-scrubber applications
The GEA 2H MASSdek structured packings have been used for such applications as gas scrubbing, exhaust-air cleaning, desorption (stripping) and rectification. Compared to conventional packings, the 2H MASSdek packings are “far superior” in terms of low specific pressure drop and maximum separation capacity, says the manufacturer. The packings are made from plastic compounds using a special extrusion process to produce profile-shaped sheets that are then welded together to form a stable package that can be cut to size. The packings are available in polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), electrically conductive PP, polyvinylchloride (PVC) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF), with specific surfaces from 80 to 250 m2/m3. — GEA 2H Water Technologies GmbH, Hürth, Germany
