The 52nd Chem Show Educational Conference

Presented by Chemical Engineering and the Chem Show

The Chem Show Educational Conference program is tailor-made for today’s technical professional working in the Chemical Process Industries (CPI) or for the engineering/procurement/construction firms that serve those industries. In keeping with our mission to deliver timely information that is, above all, practical, these sessions have value for process engineers, project engineers, design engineers, plant-operations engineers, maintenance engineers, plant superintendents, engineering managers, process control engineers, chemical engineers, EH&S coordinators, plant engineers, pilot-plant engineers, and chief engineers alike.

Attendees will take home useful information whether they work for chemical plants, pharmaceutical facilities, food processors, petroleum refineries, plastics processing plants or any of the other diverse plants that make up the Chemical Process scene. And that up-to-date information, coming from knowledgeable speakers, will truly reflect today’s state-of-the-art in chemical engineering related technology.

  Efficient Bulk Solids Handling
From pharmaceuticals to plastics, nearly two-thirds of the output of the CPI is handled, packaged and marketed in solid form. And the challenges of handling bulk solids are nearly as diverse as the Chemical Process Industries themselves. Still, the body of chemical engineering know-how has always been much stronger and better developed with respect to fluids than to solids. These sessions bring together much needed practical expertise including useful rules of thumb, best practices and design considerations to help you handle bulk solids more efficiently.   Financially Sound Green Engineering
Today more than ever, the interests of green engineering and profitability are on the same side. In many cases, the bottom line is that green processes are more efficient and thereby cost less to run. This track keeps the business implications in mind, addressing CPI topics such as energy efficiency, alternative fuels for the CPI, biotechnology, water supply, and the impacts of potential greenhouse-gas regulations.   Smooth, Safe and Secure Processes
Unnecessary costs in the CPI can range from downtime to injury of personnel, and even to loss of proprietary information. At the same time, sophisticated technological solutions can be intimidating to implement without the right preparation. These Sessions are designed to demystify the prediction and prevention of equipment failure, streamline complex tasks, and collect and manage the date you need. Meanwhile, a significant portion of this track is dedicated to minimizing costs by keeping personnel and process safe. Click here for this agenda.
